protein skimmer to fit this tank

Hi,

Could anyone please recommend a protein skimmer (brand or model) that will fit an Aqua One 620 tank? I would like to have a SW setup in this one and think I will need a skimmer. Or is there any alternative method to do this?

Thanks

look into eshops, octopus and swc hang on skimmers as you can't use an in sump skimmer because there is no sump. ( Or are you going to use a hang on overflow?) The link isn't too specific with the lighting and i bet it won't be sufficient for corals

thanks will do. From my readings the lights dont seem very efficient for corals but thats ok as I wont be concentrating on them. However do you think these lights will be ok for some soft corals in case I decide to try? Im not fussed at all because all im putting in this tank is a peacock mantis shrimp.

Wont be putting a hang on overflow on this. The problem im facing is dont think I can put a hang on skimmer on this tank? Is there any alternative method.

I was reading a short message on the net, says this guy has a little reef going in one of these tanks with no protein skimmer but with extra powerheads (rio 200 and 600) and much better lights for his corals (says its been running for 12 months) and he does a ~20% waterchange weekly. If I get one extra powerhead for a little turbulence will this be ok to run the tank with the built in open filtration system? Id like to minimize water changes as much as possible.

Check the nano site. If you do your water changes weekly you should be fine. Pull the water from the top say a large glass that is where most of the bad water is.

You could put a Tunze 9005 or 9010 in that tank. They set inside the tank small footprint.
