Blennys keep dyeing, please help !!!
Ok, I have had my 75 Gallon reef tank for about 9 months now. I have 75 pounds of live rock...((((other parameters below)))).
Currently I have 2 peculiar clowns, a pepperment shrimp, a CB shrimp, bi color pseudochromis, blue powder tang, and a bunch of SPS corals, brains, feather duster, clean up crew.....hermit crabs, snails, emerald crabs ext..... I can not understand why my first blenny died after about 3 months.....then I bought another one and it only lasted for about 1.5 months......then I bought 2 scooter blennys and they died in about 1 month. All other fish are fine.....Any suggestions? I have sponges covering the powerhead (d/t I thought the first two died from getting sucked in ) but then the two scooters died......So I have no idea now? I am stuck.........I heard they are hardy......but maybe not. |

well scooters have a tough time eating anything but "pods". I do not know if a 75g tank will hold enough "pods" to feed 2 scooters. That could be the reason for that. How about some other things. Do you quarantine? If so, how long, and what do you observe during QT? Do you have a sump? Do you have a refugium? What kind of foods did the specific blennies have?(were the omnivores or herbivores that would need all plant to feed off of). What kind of food, and feeding schedule do you adhere to?

Yes I have a 30G sump and a refugium. I had two other lawnmower blennys at different times. I kept to a strict one day feeding (at the same time) of frozen marine cuisine.
Thank you for the response |
