Moisture in stand
My sump seems to be giving off a lot of moisture into the stand. Its a cheapo particle board stand for a 55g.
Should I be concerned? If so, is it treatable or should I replace the stand? Is moving to a new stand as easy as draining most of the water out and sliding it? |

You could always put a coat of oil based primer/sealant on it ... carefully of course.

If the stand isn't too far gone, you could try putting a clip on fan in the cabinet to vent the moist air outside the stand.

I would also put some sort of primer on it... but not with the sump still down there. I would remove everything below the tank and go from there. Your problem is the reason why many will not put anything "wet" into their cabinets anymore.
