Herbie style, pipe diameter?

I am having a 120 gallon tank built and I am going to be using the Herbie method of overflows. I am going to be using a Reeflo Snapper pump for my return pump and I am estimating the tank will receive 1400-1500 for flow from the pump. I am not sure if I should have the tank manufacture drill for 1.5" primary and emergency drains or if 1" for both will be able to handle the flow. Does anyone flow this much with a Herbie? If so what diameter of pipe are you using?

How bigs your sump? That's a huge amount of flow for any skimmer, refugium or any other filtration you would use, if flows what your after, go closed loop, and about 120 to 400gph through say... 40G sump.
