Skimmer recommendations for a 380?

I recently bought a 380, and now ahve i up and running. I'm wondering what would be the best skimmer for the buck, I am goign to keep the tank FOWLR, and I also should not that the sump is a 50 long, so the skimmer needs to be able to fit inside that.

MSX 300A would be a good choice for a budget skimmer.

Vertex Alpha 300 would probably be one of the better choices for your system but is pricey.

Hey Terry I just set up the SWC 300a (same as MSX) in my new setup and am very pleased with it. You have to run the water level much lower with this one. It only requires 6-8" for proper functioning. When I had that tank the regular MSX 250 done a bangup job. It is much cheaper. I don't think the 300a would fit in your sump though as it is 12" diameter. But the 250 model would.

BTW I found a bottle of acrylic polish that I need to give you. I need to stop by and get my furniture dollies soon too. Need them for another remodeling project I'm working on.

If the 300a wont fit then use a 250a. You want the askoll powered version.

Ok, I just didn't know the 300A was rated for tanks up to that size. Jason, just call me or message me when you want to pickup your dollies.

Man my 50 is 1 inch too short for the 300A. What size tanks are the 250A and 300A rated for>? Just wondering the difference between the two considering one is only $50 more.

Jason, does the am I correct in reading that the SWC 300A has a 12 inch body? That's width correct, if so that would fit in my 300 and may just be my choice.
