Which one would be better for my upcoming system??

a Vertex Mocean 3500 x2 (in each corner) or a Sea Swirl 1150/gph x2.

i've heard that their have been alot of problems with Wavy Sea's in the past and the Vertex look like the exact same product. The consumer reports are all very positive for the Sea Swirl, both in durability and performance.

Any first hand accounts and which one is preferred.

Or if anybody has any other ideas for for flow it would be greatly appreciated!

the return pump is Reeflo Barracuda Gold (5500/gph)

The aquarium is 470 gallons (84x36x36).

Thank you for your time

Not sure what the exact numbers are but you should be able to push 1500 gph though the 1" Sea Swirl. I've used them for around 10 years and love em. Great customer service and a good price on rebuilding them.

Is it going to be a reef or a FOWLR?

its been so long since I bought mine that I forgot that they don't want you to push too much water though em.

I extended them further down into the tank using some black PVC. I think the turning colar on the 1" model is 1.25".
