Nutrient control. It wouldn't hurt to have a few urchins for back up.

there is no "mr fix it" critter out there unfortunately. id say a sea hare for a week or two some lfs will rent them out, and then get a tang, rabbit fish or angel depending on aquarium size. most fish will only eat hair algae when its new growth and wont touch the long stuff. a few snails wont hurt either but i stay away from more than 1 or 2 hermits as they can sometimes be more trouble than they are worth. id go buy a tooth brush scrub for an hout or two and then change out 30% of your water. follow up next week with a 20% change and you should cut off the nutrient supply fueling the growth. patience and persistance is the key for most every aquarium problem encountered in this hobby. remember a beautiful reef is not born overnight.

Of what is selectable, turbos snails did the best IME. That said, I agree that they are not the miracle cure either.
