Have you added any rocks or large coral piece that could have had a nasty hitchhiker in it? What do you have for a clean-up crew, could they be doing their job and cleaning up the body before you find it? What kind of corals are doing well? What's your source water? What has changed from three months ago to today?

Did you add any new fish. I just lost 10 fish when I added a Blue Hippo Tang and they showed no signs of disease on their bodies. They just looked lathargic(spelling?) and within hours they died. Everyone seems to think it was a bacteria that just transmitted to the fish.
Water was within parameters and no other issues that I could find. |

I want to double check you've got a 220gal or is that a typo and you've got a 22gal? Tell us a little about you tank setup and equipment. Maroons are very Territorial and aggressive, in a 220 should be no big deal to stake out their claim, however in a 22 I can see them going to war on what you added.

Ok, good had me worried that you add all of that to a pair of maroon's personal tank.
I'd say keep up on your water changes etc. Wait a month and see how the rest do. If they're ok, then get one or two things but QT them before adding to the main tank. It will protect your main tank plus if you get any loss during QT you know it had nothing to do with your DT. After they are out of QT wait a few weeks and then start the QT with your next addition. Only three snails in 220 seems kind of light for a clean up crew. I'm not really up on eels but I would think they might go after and eat smaller damsels etc. |
