How to: Auto-on Air pump Backup System
There is a nice air pump by Azoo that automatically switches to backup power. I don't want a stream of bubbles going into my reef tank all of the time, only when the power dies.
How can I hook up a pump like this to only turn on when the power dies? Could my AC Jr. do this for me maybe? |

I looked at one of those one time. Not sure about the AC jr but on the apex, you can set an outlet on if it looses communications (power out). Don;t think that would work though because it would always want to run from battery.
Another option, which I plan to do, is to get a bilge pump (boating), a deep cycle battery and a relay. |

Use a battery operated pump like the Vortech MP10
