Doser recommendation
I'm thinking about going to a doser for replenishment of Calcium, ALK, Magnesium, Reef BioFuel, MB7 and possibly Iodine. Any recommendations? I looked at the Aquamedic and the Spectrapure. Both are quite pricey. Not so concerned with the price. Just looking for something reliable. What is everyone using?

The Litermeter is great but if you want to dose calcium and alkalinity your going to have to buy another pump and yet another if you want to dose mag. I've been using one for about 6 months now and love it. I continue to test my levels every 2 weeks and they haven't moved since setting it up. It's a lot more than the BRS dosers but this thing doses a small amount 150 times a day, thats almost every 10 minutes. Can't beat that for stabilty. Just program the ml's you want dosed and it takes care of the rest. I don't bother dosing mag, I just dump in a cup every week or two.

I like the LM3 because I can dial the rate up and down instead of timing a manual pump.
I prefer a US made product but I heard the bubble magnus is great value also.. |

Very interesting. I was really thinking about the GHL Profilux 4 head doser but I just checked out the Bubble Magus 3 head. That looks pretty good for the price. And I guess I could always get another 4 head for everything I want to dose. With such a cheap price, I'm wondering if it could be at all near the quality of the Profilux doser. Anyone own the Bubble Magus?

The BRS dosers are great when hooked up to a controller. Mine does 24 hours a day, every hour. It could do it every minute of every day if I felt like writing that much code. If I didn't have a controller, I would have looked into the Litermeter3.

What are most of you dosing? Is anyone using these dosers to dose vodka/BioFuel and MB7? Wondering how it works with small numbers like 4 ml/day.

Since the BubbleMagus isn't available, I'm thinking about the Profilux unit but I'd have to get an additional unit for everything I want to dose. Do you guys also run a Calcium Reactor. I'm wondering if I should leave mine running while I dose.

I have the 1.1mL doser from BRS and really like it. No need for a controller. I just use a timer with 15min increments, so its on for 15 minutes 6X day. Keeps the alk very constant; if you have a larger system, it will work even better.

I use a Drews Doser from BRS as well and have been happy with it. It would work just fine with smaller amounts, just use a controller to set it to run for say 3 minutes for 4 ml. Of course you'll have to calibrate the pump and do the math to get the exact amount of time. I don't know about MB7 though, normally you don't add nearly enough of this product daily to justify setting it up on an auto.
