Question mag level??

can having a low mag level kill a anenome? it was at 1000.

Calcium, Alk, and Mag are all important to maintain in any reef tank.

What salt are you using and do you ever dose any magnesium?

I'm not certain that a level of 1000 could directly kill an anemone. I would look more towards dirty water and improper lighting.

I don't see how a low magnesium level could harm an anemone, and 1000 ppm isn't low enough to cause problems, IMO. I'd raise the Mg to 1285 ppm over a few days, but I wouldn't expect it to help anemones. It will help a bit with calcium and alkalinity consumption.

how often should i feed my fish?

i feed my fish once a day. one cube of mysis shrimp. is that enough?

What fish are you feeding, and how big are they?

I would feed a more varied diet, FWIW. Mysis shrimp are great, but fish need variety the same way we do.

The low level of mag will not harm the anemone but rapid change in its level will. This is also true of the other tank paramameters. Experienced reefers suggest 6 months before adding an anemone as it can take this long for the tank to stabilize its water chemistry
