Ice cap LED Question
I am interested in getting some LEDs to supplement my T5s and I am wondering if anyone is using them and if so.how does the icecap led strips work, can they fix inside of the Current brand Nova Extreme Pro
or does anyone have a better suggestion on how to add LEds to my tank I have 90 gallon DT and I want to get something that can either fix inside of my light fixture or a 4' long fixture that will sit on top of my tank |

I think they are so new not many people have feedback. However seeing how my coral grow under my blue LED 1W moonlights I am going to go ahead and go for it. (T5 actinics just doesn't compare to the "pop" of VHO)
I am going to make a special bracket or hang it off my pendant cable with a fishing string. I think it is going to be great. |

I have the 24" and it is great, really gives that actinic color pop. I'm not familiar with your fixture, but the light is so narrow and light weight that you may be able to fit it in there, definately on top of the tank. I used mine to replace a bulb in a 4 bulb fixture, it fits perfectly in the space( the socket for that bulb is broken).

planejane, would you say the Icecap LED rig puts out as much light as, say, an ATI Blue +?

FWIW...
The Icecap leds don't/won't work in a standard T5 fixture- the retrofit kit comes with special end-caps and power supply. They definatly look cool in addition to standard tank lighting. For coral pop I still like the Powerbrite LEDs a little better but the Icecaps are evenly spread because they aren't as strong. HTH

That's ok I am mounting it external to my fixture.
I want to know when the MH is on does it over power the blue brought by the LEDs? and there is no way it is as powerful as the ATI blue+ but I believe the 4' LED strip draws 24W power. |

While the LEDs obviously can't match the intensity of the halide (color wise), yes- you will still notice they are on, similar to actinics.
