i thought the same thing so i thought what the heck cheap why not try it and see what happens...box of 200 nassarius arrived 100% DOA. packaging was decent, but open the box and there was a pile of black goo and shells in a nearly air tight bag with nearly zero water. he also ships 2 day priority so that doesnt help. I am still waiting for my refund.

Periwinkles generally aren't a good addition to reef tanks. Most are intertidal and they will crawl up above the water line and wait for the incoming tide (which obviously never comes). It's pretty common for them to actually crawl out of the tank. Also, while there are some tropical and subtropical periwinkles, most you see for sale on ebay are from cold or temperate areas, so temperature is a problem for them on the long-term.

Current Tank Info: tore them down to move and haven't had the time or money to set them back up

Bad idea - we have tons of them locally here at the beach, some folks have brought them home and put them in their tanks only to find them roaming the living room the next morning...BTW the ones that get under the couch get very stinky after a few days.

I bought the same setup from ebay, with 20 periwinkle and 75 nassarius snails. 5 months later, I have 3 nassarius snails left. Now this may sound bad to you guys, but these are the ONLY three snails that have survived in my tank...EVER. They were shipped dry(moist) and looked DOA, but they were all roaming the tank within a day. Not a bad deal to me, but I won't be putting any more snails in my tank, so its a moot point for me.
