Zoas not growing?

For months now ive had problems getting any zoa species to grow and spread ive tryed everything. All my parameters are fine i use a quality salt tropic marin i even recently got rid of hermit crabs just in case it was them. Still nothing they look dull and there not spreading this goes the same for my clove polyps there just slowly declining only they look great HELP ME OUT!!!

Dont think about the money that goes into your tank it makes reefing a lot easier ;)

none of mine have really taken off and I have 4-8 different frags. what i've found out is the asterina stars have been eating some of the zoas. i have patches missing in some of the frags and sometimes i'll find them eating them (they turn colors when they're eating) and toss them in the sump. this might not hinder growth as much as dwindle your population though. just something to think about.
