Weight Concern for 35-40 Gallon Hexagon Tank

Hi i just added my Egg crate to the bottom of my 35-40 gallon Hexagon Saltwater tank, I think its a 35 Gallon not 100% sure. I added approximately 35-40lbs of sand 20lbs being Live sand and the other 15-20 of dead sand mixed well with my live sand. My concern is the weight on the bootm glass panel, the galss is 1/4 inch thick and my sand bed is about 1-1.5 inches thick. How much more weight can it handle, i have not yet added the live rock which will be about another 30lbs or so. should i add another 10lb bag of live sand or just leave it how it is now? I do not want that botttom glass breaking!! Thanks

I was in a similar position and just removed the glass panel from underneath the tank. Water may also get underneath the glass panel and then it will be impossible to dry it.

So if water gets under the glass panel that means the tank is leaking? I cant remove the panel because it is the bottom of my tank, did you have to replace your bottom panel? I am talking about the glass on the bottom of the tank, i guess i dont understand what you mean u removed ur glass panel. I think we are talking about the same thing here?

I don't honestly have a clue how much it should hold but you may enjoy this short video of a guy putting rock in his 10g (which i believe has 1/4" glass right?)

No we are talking about two different things. I didn't realize you meant the bottom of your glass tank. I thought you meant you were putting your tank on top of a desk/table that has a glass covering. Nevermind
