starting a new 100+g tank
what all would i need i currently have a 10g tank and the hob filter and a maxijet 400 and flourscent lighting seems to work great for such a small tank with 15lbs of live rock but i know nothing about bigger tanks besides the normal stuff what else would be recomended pretty much what all should i get or is needed i want to do lps corals you know anyways in the end im gonna put yalls suggestions in the tank as long as everything gets along ... more or less so yea rc gets to pretty much build my tank set up err well stock my tank with everything so come on make RC proud and help a noob with a 1000$ dollar starting budget to get things cycleing

If your handy with your hands you can probably take on the stand and canopy. You could look in to used tanks, sand, liverock and other equipment you could need.

what would be a good skimmer that doesnt require a drilled tank im no good at plumbing and wifey wont let be buy more than 1 tank for sump ... did i mention i have no clue on what is neede for alot of stuff like skimmers or where to put them i can deffinatly diy a stand i have plenty of wood around the house and know a little about framing from work experiance and depending on what wifey says maybe more than 1k maybe 1500 who knows depends on her but she promised me 1k

You aren't going to be doing much hiding of the skimmer without a sump, and it sounds like you are decided on not going with one?

if i have to have it for a bigger tank i have 2 i guess as for a sump tank thats still in disscussion what would be a significant size? and are their small enough skimmers to fit in the stand?
