Super Reef Octopus XP-2000 Cone
Anyone using the XP-2000 Cone? I'm looking into it as an upgrade and just curious as to how it performs compared to most skimmers.

hey geno,
i just posted on another thread about this skimmer, i own one for maybe a month now give or take. i run mine on a 75 dt with a 30g sump fully stocked also running zeovit system. i ran several other skimmers on my tank prior all being oversized. msx200,ati bm200,bermuda aquatics bps-5c, etc.. i dont get alot in the cup maybe a 1" in aweek. I run a sps dominate reef with plenty of fish. i feel i feed heavy 4 cubes daily but i removed thawed out water from frozen food and also run gac. its only gonna skim whats in ur tank, i posted my tank picture, i have maybe 20 or so fish. 10 chromisis, 1 mag lg foxface, pair of marron clowns, goldrim, hippo, purple, chevron all very small, lamarcks angel, sixline. i have also been playing with water level a little bit. but over all as a skimmer i like it. pump is silent, no rotaional issues. i think it is good. i dont have nasty skimmer porn tough never did with any skimmers. my tank has been running 3 yrs with same rock same sand, so everything is pulled out so to speak. i have read that you want output to be above waterline so i am playing around with that now. ask around in the octopus cone skimmer club thread. -joey from jersey Last edited by joey_1023; 02/12/2010 at 02:54 PM.
