Is this flow good through Phosphate Reactor ?

I went to change my BRS phosphate remover tonight in my TLF reactor, and found it was rock hard. I assume that's because I didn't have enough flow through it. I did a quick search on Youtube and found the following videos. WOW...I had no where near that amount of flow that's in the first video below. Does the flow in the 1st video below look about right, or is that too much? I was always afraid to put more flow than it takes so the surface was just barely moving, because I know too much flow can turn it to dust.
The flow in my reactor looked closer to what you see in the 2nd video below, but even a little bit less. And it was only pockets of phosphate material that was moving like in the second video, rather than the entire amount of phosphate remover moving, as in the first video. Thanks. Pam

The flow in the video looks maybe a little high but not by much - you don't want so much flow as to destroy the media but you need a decent amount of flow. Some people use the term fluidized bed reactor and that describes what you want. Enough flow such that the media "floats" in the water but not so much that it flows out or tumbles around and turns to dust. If yours turned rock hard in the reactor then I would bet not near enough flow.

That's description makes sense Shellshocked (fluidized bed). The flow in mine, seems to only be on one side of the BRS phosphate media. If I turn it up any more, it seems to tumble too much. But I do have it above Seachem Denitrate in the same TLF reactor, so maybe that's why. It looks more like in the second video I posted. Guess I'll have to try buying a second reactor.
Has anyone tried the Seachem Phosguard? Any opinions on it? Thanks, Pam
