check valve failed......

I have read that checkvalves eventually fail and experienced this myself. I decided to eliminate the checkvalves all together and keep my sump filled to a certain level so it will not overflow. Works great and is quiet as it backfills. check valves were noisey..thump thump thump.
Any horror stories of your own to share?

They get too cruded up to work well unless you clean them very often. Siphon breaks in the return lines work better and are easlier to keep clean.
