Sump advice for a 150g tank
I currently have 75 gal. live rock and fish only tank. I was currently given a 150gal. tank that i would like to make into a reef tank. I don't know if i should purchase a sump or build one, am i going to benefit more from one or the other. Looking for any advice on a brand to buy or how to build a good sump system for this tank.

Build it. You can customize it the way you want and your cost will be less than paying for a ready made sump.
Get a 40 gallon (48x13) tank, add some baffles and light and you are set. You will of course need sand (If you want to go that route), macro and or rubble. The above referenced site has a lot of great ideas that can help get you started. Good luck. |

Thank you Mrsmithers that is a very helpful web site. I am going to use the 75 gallon tank to make my sump so that i can get more out of it. If anyone has any other good designs for building the sump, or brands of skimmers return pumps etc... that are good to use please post. I appreciate all the help I can get to design something right the first time and be happy with it.
