would nori raise water parameters?

I feed my tangs nori almost everyday and sometimes they tear big chunks off and they end up floating behind my rocks or in places that i can't reach. Is it okay to just leave it floating around in there and let the tangs get to it whenever they want or will it start to raise water parameters?

If too much of it is left decaying somewhere like a filter sock, sump or fuge it could lead to problems, however if it's just bits getting stuck in the rocks, the tangs and cuc will find it and eat it. Keep monitoring your water, and you'll figure out if you have a problem.

It'll contain some protein, so some of it will be converted to ammonia and phosphate.

even it they eat it all, they still poop it later anyway...

cuc should get it sooner or later either way (unless it goes down the sump).

Anything you feed is going to "raise water parameters". It is the nature of the beast.

ok thanks. I just wanted to clarify. I don't have any hermits in my tank, just snails. I will let the smaller pieces around and just take out the bigger pieces.

I don't think you need to feed nori to them every day. They do eat other things.
