What to keep with a dottyback and clown

I have a nano 12 gallon dx i have a small clown and a bi color dottyback. I was wondering if i were to add a small fish say a small goby...would it be compatible with my dotty back..because i've heard they are very defensive of territory. Also my tank is about almost 7 weeks old. I cycled it with about 15 pounds of live rock. After it was finished cycling i took out the bio balls. I kept two sponges and the cermaic rings and charcoal. Should i keep the sponges to capture detritus or should i get rid of them?

A 12 gallon is really small, are you sure you want to add a third fish? What's the display volume, like 10 gallons?

7 weeks is a really new tank too, so i'd be careful about moving too fast. keep a close eye on water quality. and i agree that a 12g tank is very small. i'm looking into keeping a clown pair with a pseudochromis and a blenny but that's in a 40 and i'm concerned about compatiblity/territory issues.
