QT tank????

I had a recent ick scare(turned out to be a bubble) but i realized it is important to have a qt. I took one of the foams from my display and started a 20g tank. all my levels r zero but i have .25 nitrite. With 0 nitrate does that mean it isnt completely cycled yet? I was supposed to get a tang today and there no way hes going in my tank without qt.

anyhelp would be great.thanks

QT tank is probably going to be the tank you are going to medicate if the need arises. Some medications will destroy the biological filter. That being said, I wouldn't worry about the cycle. Frequent water changes are usually done to keep parameters in check. This is why it is good to use smaller tanks for this purpose.

In my opinion yes, but do frequent ammonia tests and be prepared to do frequent 25-50% water changes.

Seeing some nitrite in your QT is not all that uncommon. The nitrite itself is not harmful to the fish. I'd just follow philneuss's advice.

Current Tank Info: I have a reef screen saver on my phone, does that count?
