qt tank question

what size tank do you use? i am not sure what i should use.

The largest you can fit/afford. I use a 50g which means I can QT multiple fish and large fish without stressing them out. Helps with water quality too.

It really depends upon the size of your DT. If you have a tank that can support large free swimming fish like a Tang, I would say a 90 would be appropriate. If you have a 20 gallon nano, I would look to match it in size.

I agree it just depends on what you are going to be using it for. I use mine primarily for new introductions and a PM type of QT and acclimation process. On the rare occasion that I introduce a new fish it's usually on the smaller side.

I have a 40 breeder and if I need copper for something, a 29 that has previously been copper bombed.

I agree though that it needs to be proportional to the size of the tank and the size of the fish. You dont need a 90G to QT a clownfish, nor would you want to QT a tang in a 20.

I would feel comfortable QT'ing a 7" Naso in a 50. And I intend to sometime this year.
