skimmer collection cup drain

Hi guys,

I'm looking into setting up a collection cup drain with my new bubble king supermarin 200. Does anyone have any pics of their setups? Also, when using this kind of setup, how often should you clean the inside of the collection cup?

Well 2 things. I have a alpha 200 so similar cup, made by the same company. I take it off and clean it once a month. once every 2 weeks while doing a water change I purposely overflow the skimmer into the cup so I can use a tooth brush to semi clean the cup.

If you have one of those auto cleaners you would be set.

I have the drain going into a ball valve that then to a drain. That way if it overflows for some reason it doesnt just drain my sump. Every other day I open the ball valve and drain the cup.

I dont have any pics but shouldnt be very hard to set it up.
