help

Hey rc .. I was just woundering, I would say im new to this hobby.. well kinda .. ive had the tank (35 hex) for 3 yrs and never did anything to it never had any problems untill i thought maybe i should do a water change ever since then all my fish been dieing ... as of now i have no fish in my tank i have some pallops and zyinna and live rock iv brought my water to 4 different fish shops to test my water and they all say its good .. i have a test kit witch told me that all my levels are high ..nitrate is high phasphate is high calcium is high..amonina is good.. on my test .. when i bring it to the store for them to check it they say its good.. im so confused and tired of looseing my fish ... If you have advice to what might be the problem please help.....

well nitrates, phosphates, and calcium will not affect the fish at all, so it is unimportant.

If your tests AND LFS tests show no ammonia and nitrite I would not look there. What types of corals do you have. I know you said xenia(pronounced zenia) and polyps, but what kind of polyps, and is there anything else in there?

Do you have any other livestock? Like anemones, leathers, cucumbers? Any number of them may have been shocked and released toxins.

Also, what water did you use? What did you do to prepare it for the Water Change? Did you make the saltwater yourself, or buy it from your LFS? What was the salinity of the water before the WC, and what was the salinity of the water used in the WC?

Current Tank: 20 Gallon tall, 4-bulb t5 HO, Eshopps psk75H, ac-70 fuge. So far, green clown goby, striped goby, more gorillas than I wish I had, 5 SPS frags, 3 LPS Frags, 1 Softee, Turkey Wing Clam.

Plan for the future: 120 gallon 4ft glass tank.

Other things to note. How much of a water change. Did you mix the water well and bring it up to temperature before you added it to the tank.
