Urgent Help md 70 pump

I have endless trouble with this MD 70 pump. Firstly the when I connected the union for the output I never sealed it 100% and after trying everyday for the past week it still a slight leak. I have tried High pressure pvc glue, pratley glue, silicone, but still leaks. The tank running for a week now and is currently running without the sump and skimmer, everything is still fine regarding livestock. Another problem is the noise it makes when running, sounds like a pool pump.

If it is an iwaki 70 pump they are sort of loud, not a pump I would ever consider quiet. If you are having trouble with the threaded connection at the pump I use teflon tape and sometimes teflon paste. Tape needs to be wrapped the same direction as the threads or it will peal off when you install the fitting.

I removed the union and reconnected again and now ok. I asked 2 people that has the md 70 pump and they say its silent. Im going to try a rubber mat under the pump to dampen it. Thanks Geo
