really confused.. 2 watchman gobies and pistol shrimp
i have a japanese pistol shrimp and 2 watchman gobies
i still dont know if they formed a relationship yet, sometimes i see the pistol with the gobies, but the gobies remain motionless, like they know hes blind and he just leaves them alone. sometimes i see them fight, and both get wounds now and than. my question is, could i add another pistol shrimp? i really always wanted the goby/pistol shrimp combo but my japanese just never formed it plus i rarley ever see him but his antennae and claws maybe once a month. do you think i could add another small pistol shrimp to my tank? my japanese pretty much owns most of the rock, thats my main concern, it killing the smaller pistol

What size tank is this?
Some pistols will never pair up with gobies. 2 gobies should not be in the same tank if its under 6ft long. They need their own turf so the wounds could be coming from the two gobies fighting. Lastly when the 2 do pair if they happen to then the goby will remain motionless while keeping the pistol close. The Goby tells the pistol of any dangers and supplies it with food while the pistol digs caves. |

When they are working together, the pistol will have an antennae on the tail of the gobie. That is how they "communicate". I feed mine spectrum pellets. (small) The shrimp knows as soon as the food hits the sand and he starts looking for it. I've seen it stick the antennae through a small gap in the rock and pull pellets under the rock with the antennae.
