RO/DI Units
Hey guys, Quick question. I was wondering, if I buy a ro/di unit that says its for reefs. Is it safe to drink the water even though its rated for reefs only? Something similar to this system.
http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/...rd-system.html Or do I have to buy a dual home/reef system in order to safely drink the water from the unit? Thanks |

From what I've always heard, you can drink RO water but not RO/DI water.

That's what you want to do. T off the water after the 3 stages and before it gets to the DI filter. There is a fitting that will only allow water to flow one way up the T so that it will not backflow water from the DI to your RO drinking water. Have a valve in place between the RO and DI so that you can turn off the DI and use the drinking water part. I got mine from The Filter Guys with the drinking water add on. The drinking water taste as good as bottled water.
