eheim 1262 enough flow?

im picking up my reef ready glasscages 150 gal on saturday, the built in overflow has two 1 1/2" drains. my return pump is an eheim 1262 and i believe its rated at 900 gph...my question is if this pump will work? im not sure how to figure out the GPH of two 1 1/2" drains.

It should work great, what is your total vertical head?

I am not positive but I think those overflows can handle like 600gph each. So no issue with that pump. I am planning on using the same pump on my dual overflow 120G. I am on my way to pick it up tonight. Good luck with your build.

I think it will be just about right. I like to shoot for around 6-8 x sump volume turnover, or about 3 x tank volume turnover (depending on the size of the sump, the bigger the sump the more turnover).

On my 90, I had 1 1.5" overflow and the Eheim 1262 and it worked fine. Now I use the 1262 for my 150 and it's working great. My 150 has a 1 - 2" drain and 1" backup drain and for testing purposes, I closed the 2" drain and the 1" backup drain handled the 1262 with no problem.
