Beckett Protein skimmer problem
So, after I stopped the leaks and switched over my tanks, I fired up my Beckett Protein Skimmer. It wasn't making a lot of bubbles for a few days on my prior tank so I cleaned out the beckett thingee and set it up for the new tank this morning. The only difference now is that I have it in my sump (virtually untouched by water) whereas before it was used completely externally. In the past, it has performed very well.
It started up fine and was making a nice foam but after about 10 minutes, the bubbles disappeared. The pump (mag18) appears to be working fine and the skimmer looks clean. Any ideas from anyone who owns or is familiar with beckett skimmers? I am now completely out of cash after my tank upgrade and cannot afford a new skimmer, especially since there doesn't seem to be any damage to this one. |

Never mind. It just decided to take the day off. I plugged it in again now and it works better than ever (probably because of the lack head height for the pump)
