Phosphate Reactor. Good?

Does everyone run a Phosphate Reactor? If so, what's the difference between the different brands? Via Aqua and Two Little Fishies seem to be the cheapest ones. Good enough? They all basically look like cylinders with and inlet and outlet. Can you mix media in one cylinder?

I love the BRS Dual GFO/Carbon reactor. Wipes out algae in weeks or less. Very easy to maintain also. GFO is harder than carbon so it could potentially grind it if you mix the two; however, many people mix with good results.

i use two seperate reactors on my tanks - 2 x tlf's on my 60, 2 x brs singles on my 150. the brs has more capacity. they are both well made and i would buy either again if i needed to.

you can mix carbon/gfo should be fine..although your carbon last about 2months, while gfo should be changed every month or so..i personally just throw some carbon in a mesh bag and throw it in my sump

Def go with BRS reactor over fishes - quality and ease of setup are much better on the BRS deluxe reactor - not much more $$ either.

i have owned both....i actually like the TLF design over the BRS :>)

easier for me to work with, smaller in size. plus its hard to see the tumbling action inside the BRS, and the cannisters were a PITA in my opinion.

i went back with the TLF with my new setup.

good luck!!
