Skimmer - HOB or Sump Kind?

For my 55g fowlr I am Debating between a good insump skimmer like the Octo NW150 and a good HOB skimmer.

Do HOB skimmers work well? Whats the best in the industry...wonder if I can avoid the whole sump deal....with a hob power filter and a hob skimmer.
If there is whats its adv/disadvantages to a insump skimmer?

Pls advice!!!

THANKS
kris

In-Sump skimmers, set in the right sump/water level are far more consistent than HOB skimmers.

Yup, it's like night and day. Plumb a sump, I can promise that you will never ever regret it.

FWIW, I own and use the Octopus NW-150. It's one helluva piece of equipment and was worth every penny.
