drain pipe noise question?
Hello,
I'm currently doing a test run of my 90G. system; first RR setup I have ever done. I have a lot of noise with the drain lines (dual overflow). They just sound like rain/ waterfall. I don't think the problem is the durso pipes themselves, there is no gurgling. I have flex hose connected to the dursos into the sump, and they go almost strait down because they are not very bendable. Thanks for your help, Jano |

I hard line plumbed mine and just stuck the tip on the drain underwater. My cabinet is not enclosed yet and still pretty quiet.

I had the same noise problem - waterfalls. Do you have bio balls in the overflow chambers? I added these to mine and it made it quieter. I'm experimenting with putting some type of noise muffler thing-a-mob over the top of the overflow because I still get a little waterfall noise. THe bio balls helps a lot.

I'm not using bioballs as I drain into a sump not wetdry. maybe I have too much flow going into the overflows?
