Lighting

I would do all T-5's for the purpose of keeping the heat down to a minimum. I know LED's run cool as well, but there is alot to be said for T-5's. JMO.

I run an all T-5 on my 120g and am loving it. LPS/SPS.

I'm running 2x250 w Pheonix 14k's 15" above my 120g and love it. No heat issues and massive amounts of light. I have LumenMax elite reflectors by the way.

Sorry for late response. It is a standard 4x2x2 and no I don't run any fans and I don't get over 80 degreesf. I am running a Galaxy dual ballast.

I am currently building my canopy I am going to leave the top and back open and if I go MH I'll make sure to go at least 12-15" off the water to hopefully keep the heat down thanks for the advice on lighting just couldn't decide on which way to go needed more opinions thanks

There's a 4x2x2' 120G at my LFS that uses 4x54s T5's overdriven on an Icecap 660. He keeps higher-end stuff (chalices, zoanthids, torches) and they grow/look great. HTH

PS- Check out the 4 + 6 Bulb Tek Fixtures. It would work well (IMO better than 2x250w MH) for the types of coral you'd like to keep.
