New ReefKeeper Lite loses 45 minutes every 24 hours

I just received my RKL-1 from Marine Depot. Before I call for a replacement, I want to see if there's some way to calibrate the internal clock. Over the course of the first 24 hours of operation, the clock lost 45 minutes. So, at 11:30pm it was reading 10:45pm. Over the course of a week, this will be near 6 hours, and over a month I'll lose a full day. Is this a known problem? I seem to remember reading about this a while ago, but can't find anything now.

You could try to restore factory defaults and see if that helps. Also, the digital aquatics forums on their site are good about finding information with problems.

I did a factory reset when I flashed the firmware. I'll try another tonight. Should I assume this will wipe all my timers and programs also?

Yeah, I actually flashed it before I hooked it up for the first time. I heard 1.03 was a disaster to program, so I figured I'd go to 1.10 before I even plugged it in.

I don't own one but if it has a battery you could try replacing it with a new one.

there will likely be a battery for the internal clock, just like a computer

however if the clock is operating, but not correctly, it could be a bad frequencey crystal on the timing function, or improper programming, i would call costomer service or shoot them an email stateing your problem,
very doubtful its the firmware, or CMOS (battery)

good luck
