QT Chaeto?

so, I have a bag of chaeto coming in today and wondering how safe it is to go right into the sump? Any chance I can introduce ick/velvet? Qt for 6 weeks? ...ug!

ick and velvet, I would tend to think chances are VERY slim. HOWEVER, many things can hide in there that might make you want to qt it for a few days and look closely. I had 2 ENORMOUS aiptasia, baby brittle star, and some bristle-worms in mine.

Current Tank: 20 Gallon tall, 4-bulb t5 HO, Eshopps psk75H, ac-70 fuge. So far, green clown goby, striped goby, more gorillas than I wish I had, 5 SPS frags, 3 LPS Frags, 1 Softee, Turkey Wing Clam.

Plan for the future: 120 gallon 4ft glass tank.

I'd put it in your sump now. You can see aptasias, if that's what your worried about and as far as the baby brittle star, and some bristle-worms, they are a good thing.

You should have no problem dumping it into the sump immediately.

There is always the chance of introducing things without first quarantining. That said, I wouldn't bother quarantining chaeto myself.
