I run the Aquamedic Reef Doser's, I have two of them, the Quad and the Dual, I really like them, they have worked great for me, they are pretty expensive though, but they are pretty much set and forget. I first bought the dual, and then when I added another tank, I purchased the quad so I could dose Cal, Alk, and Mag for both tanks. For ATO I run the JBJ ATO on both tanks.

If you have a controller, you can use Drews or BRS dosing pumps. You could get by without a controller by using timers or as Compguy said buy any one of several brands of combination units. I have an Apex Lite controller with 2 BRS 1.1 dosers for my alk and cal and one BRS 50ml doser for dosing kalk as my topoff. Which ever way you go it is not cheap, but then what is in this hobby?

The BRS pumps arn't that bad. They are $99 a piece. You just need to add them to a timers. If you don't have a Controller you can just get a couple of digital timers from Home Depot or Lowes. So about $250 to setup dosing Alk & Calc

I love my litermeter. No controller or timer needed. Just dial in how many liters per day you want to add and let it run.

thanks for your help, I just purchased the spectra pure litermeterIII and 2 remote pump modules, they will be for my ato and 2 way water changes. I still need to figure out what pumps to use for 2 part dosing

I think you made a great choice. While I do use a aquamedic doser for my ato via my apex, I use a letermeter 3 and second pump for my auto water changes. The litermeter is a great unit and probably the best investment I made in my tank. One thing about the aquamedic dosers is that they can and will siphon. I had to add a solenoid to prevent my rodi water from dripping into my sump when the ATO was off.

I wish Spectrapure made a pump that can be controlled from the apex for top offs. I like the salinity control I have with my apex and the ATO. should my conductivity get to high or to low. Add salt water or add fresh and its easy to slowly adjust the salinity one direction or the other.

Being able to change water automatically and is priceless!

That is true, the aquamedic's only have two rollers, but if you setup so the bottle with your chemical is below the doser and the output is above the bottle and not in the water then it doesn't siphon. But I still use the tiny check valves they provide as a backup. If one of them ever fails I plan to move to the litermeter, or might get a RKE.

You won't regret it. They are pricey but are A++ dosers. I use them for ATO (w/kalk) and automatic water changes.
