Quick Dead Rock Newbe question

Getting closer with my 180G Build; Hopefully should be adding water in about 4 weeks. My question is on dry rock. If I purchase Dry rock, about 100lbs and about 50 lbs live rock...place it in the DT will the Dry rock seed? Or do I have to clean it, seed it and cook it using a Rubbermaid? I have small 12 ga tank that has been running for about 2 years that I can get sand from to help the process.

Let me know...just a little confused after reading a bunch of threads

I just got some Marco Rock for my new bedroom tank, and I just soaked it in RO, blasted it with a couple of koralia 4s to get the loose sediment off, scrubbed it, and put it in. No issues so far. I do highly recommend the marco rock too. It stacks great, is VERY porous, and looks very good to be so stark. It is also very light too. I got a 35 pound box for a 29, and it was too much.

Yes, the dry rock will seed and become "Live Rock". In fact, once you start getting growth on it, it will be hard to tell it apart from the original live rock.

Thank you for the reply. So just a little clean off and Marco-Rock can go in.....so the question is did you get the Fiji or Key Largo rock? Considering I have time for this tank to get cycled I just might do the Dry/Life Rock combo.
