White hairy stuff on new live rock?
Hello,
Finished setting up my new 75g marine aquarium and have had the liverock in for a couple of days. I'm getting some white strandy hairlike patches in some areas and would like to know exactly what it is. I wasn't able to find much help googling (what do you search for really..) I made a video and threw it up on Youtube so you can see how fine the hairs are moving in the current. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMmAGS7AQbE Thank you in advance for any help you can provide |

A little tough to be sure, but I would guess either a fungal or bacterial mat which are common in new live rock. Here is a good website that may help you, there are plenty of pictures. http://www.chucksaddiction.com/hitchhikers.html
