garlic guard or garlic Xtreme?

I wanted to get some more garlic since the one I have now is almost finished. Which one is better? I am assuming garlic Xtreme because a 1 oz bottle is 8$ and a 17oz garlic guard is 11$. Does is matter which one I get?

I also read that it helps fight off infections and ich. I have been using garlic for the past 4 months without any problems.

I don't know how other people get results from using garlic but I went selcon because I haven't tried that before and wanted to see if it can help fatten my fish.

You've been supplied one link already, and I can supply you several others, if you want. Garlic has absolutely NO beneficial properties, in Marine Fish, AND causes liver damage. The use of Garlic is a myth, propogated from the Freshwater hobby. It has shown to benefit freshwater fish, but NOT Marine Fish.

It is NOT an immune booster.
It does NOT increase appetite.
It DOES cause liver damage.

One study shows that garlic 'may' slow down an Ich infestation, ONLY because the Ich parasite uses smell to locate fish, and the garlic 'may' mask the fish's smell.

well that's not so much true.

garlic was the only way i could get a picky eater to frozen/dry.

for that it is helpful.

Okay, I'll rephrase.

Garlic isn't proven to regularly enhance appetite. With some fish, sometimes, it seems to maybe get them to eat, when they won't eat anything else. Other times, garlic doesn't seem to make any difference.

I think I'd rather have to work harder to get a fish to eat, than feed it something, that will cause liver damage, to get it to eat easier and quicker.
