size pump for 24g

hey guys, i have a tiny pump that was giving to me. its 75G-hour, will that be okay for my 24g nano? thanks

Is that for return from the sump? if so i would say it would be to small, actually no matter what it was for id say it would be to small.

What are you using this pump for circulation? or to pump water from you sump? In either case probably not.

For circulation you need 10-20X tank volume or greater in GPH.

If you are using this to pump from your sump you want 3-5X tank volume in GPH.

So your 75gph is only 3X not enough for circulation. It also wouldn't be enough for a sump return pump considering the head of a few feet.

Interesting i use 10x for my sump/fuge return, thats with a head of a metre, i would think 3-5x would be way too little, either way your going to need a pump atleast twice that size.

I guess I should say at least 3-5X. Why would 3-5X be too slow, unless you are using the sump return for circulation as well?

We can both agree that pump is still too small for anything but mixing a back of saltwater.

okay, ..... i dont have a refugium right now, its just the rear area of the tank. thanks for the direction.
