Dj power switch and reef keeper..
Hey I was wondering can I plug the reef keeper power pad things into a dj power switch without problems or is this a horribly bad idea?

It depends on what exactly you're wanting to achieve. Give us some more detail about what you're doing.

Well I have only two outlets to plug things into. I have two Reef Keeper surge protectors that I want to use as well. So I was hoping to get two dj switches for my outlets and then plug those two surge protectors into the dj switches. Would this be too much I don't really need all the outlets but I need to use the reef keeper surge protectors to control my electronics and just the 8 slots from the two surge protectors isn't enough.
Ultimately I have 6 plugs for my lights... Return Pump, Skimmer, Vortech Pump, Sump light, auto top off pump, heater - (so somewhere around 12 outlets needed). |

A couple thoughts. I'd sooner just buy an expander to plug everything directly into the wall. There are 3 or 6 plug units you can stick on the wall outlet that should allow you to do this. By doing so, you're not at risk of accidentally killing power to the reefkeeper power strip.
But, while smaller tanks aren't going to pull a ton of amps, I would only do what I've recommended if you're sure the outlet can handle the load you're putting on it in combination with whatever else is on the same circuit (other outlets throughout the house). So do a bit of math to determine your totally amperage pull, look at the breaker box to determine the max amps on the circuit, and proceed from there. I presume each of the units you're talking about (2 dj strips and 2 reefkeeper power strips) can pull 15 amps, so while you'll have the potential of up to 60 amps, the circuit is surely designed for 20 or less.
