I agree in a way but what are you going to do. The light puts down the most PAR for a T5 fixture hands down. The fixture is as tight and compact as you can get with very little room to spare.

I ordered 4 ballast's in a 4 week period. Two at a time and each pair was different, like they were redesigned or updated or something. I never questioned RG about it though.

Good luck. It's not that bad of a job but it is a little intimidating at first. Take pictures, take you time and label things if need be.

Road trip on down to Maryland and I'll slap it in for ya!!!!!!!!!!! Ha....

I just thought I would put this post from Greg in here. If you go to the Reefgeek sponsor area you will find this post. This just shows how great ATI has been and how great Reefgeek is, if you have a problem.

I can vouch for the reliability of these fixtures because we are the master distributor for all ATI products in the United States and most of the Powermodules sold come through our facility and very few of them come back with a problem.

Some of the folks in the threads had real issues and we have worked directly with many of them to resolve those issues, while other folks in this thread had issues that were the result of user error. For example, one end user reversed the endplates on their fixture and blocked the cooling holes over the ends of the bulbs which completely blocked the flow of air. This caused their ballasts to fail as the result of excessive heat. Another end user had a heat and moisture issue from installing the fixture inside a canopy over an open tank without good ventilation in the canopy. We worked with these folks as well to fix the issues with their fixtures.

I can’t guarantee that one will never have a problem with an ATI Powermodule, no lighting manufacturer or distributor can, but I can promise that we will be here to help you in the unlikely situation that something goes wrong.

Warmest Regards,
Greg @ ReefGeek

As I have pointed out Greg has been awesome. The only disagreement I have had with him is that he felt people were holding ATI to a standard of perfection. And that is not the case. But there are more than just a few instances of this problem. This is not Reefgeeks problem. But to their credit they are doing what they can.
