Trying to find free pictures and Facts
I would like to start working on an idea/project I have but to do so, I need to find good pictures of coral and fish.
I don't want to steal any ones work or use it without the proper permission. Are there any places that offer photos and info that I could use in my own project? |

Not sure about the info (available lots of places), but for pictures google Free stock photos. Not sure if you'll find what you want, but there's lots out there.

Many times, photo owners will let you use their pictures as long as you give them credit. If you find a good site with good pictures, contact the site owner and ask. I'd be willing to bet that most would let you use them.
Of course, if your project is a "for profit" one, the photographer is probably going to want a cut.

Glad you're taking into consideration that most pictures on the internet are not "fair use." Search Flickr's "Commons" area. All of those pictures have been uploaded with permission for anyone to use.
Another option has already been mentioned. If you happen to see pictures that you want to use, contact the photographer for permission. Most will be more than happy to allow you to use their photos, depending on what you plans are, and if you give them credit. Post this in the photography forum, for more advice!! |

If this is a commercial venture, you should be paying royalties.
