You didn't say what size tank this is for.
I had one of the G4x's and they are really poorly made, leak bad and IMO a waste of money. I'd look into some of the SWC skimmers. Really great value for the money

I have had a G4x w/ Sedra 15000 on my tank for almost 2yrs and couldn't be happier with it. This skimmer has been more than durable and havent had a single problem yet thus far. I would highly recommend this skimmer

I've also had the G4x for my 180's in the past and it worked great.

You really don't realize how poorly made the asm's are untill you get into other skimmers.
I know because I've had one and did buy a much better one. Like I said check out the SWC skimmers.

ASM skimmers are decent units. They do skim pretty well. However if one is looking to buy a NEW skimmer now a days ASM is not the way to go. For what you are going to pay for a G4 an SWC skimmer in the same price range will blow the G4 far far awy.

Got the asm... My LFS let me order it at cost. Man this thing is so poorly made its unbelievable. I have owned a EuroReef and a reefoctopus ddnw150 and they blow this thing away in build quality. I am scared that I will crack it if I tap on it too hard! One thing I like is that it is huge! I hope it skims crazy!
Overall: Not too happy with how it's built but still excited to see it preform... I'll post an update in a week.. |

try the skimmer question and answer forum. probably better results there.
I would of suggested a SRO series, MSX, depending on size of tank. I am sure it will skim fine. good luck.... Mojo~
