Feedback on korila powerheads

hey guys i just wanted your feedback on these powerheads on how good or bad they are

They are great for the price. There is better, but at 4 or 5 times the cost. You will find tons of people on here that use them.

yea i was reading about them and pretty familiar with them are the any negatives with them?

The new models are shaftless and should work great on a timer. The older models only work on a few timers. The problem is them make a lot of noise when they start up. Once there running they are quiet. I run them on my tank and like them. They are on all the time, not on a timer. I believe the new models are out or will be out soon.

the size is really the only issue I ever hear about them. Some of the older models made an annoying clicking sound when starting My only other complaint is that the magnets arn't srong enough for acrylic over 1" thick

I have 5 mag 8's and 3 mag 4s in my tank.

No, you need a larger one. You can expect 10-20 times your tank size for gph needed. So, for a 90 you would need 900-1800gph flow rate.

The only thing I didn't like about mine is that they are kinda big and noticeable, but a black background solved that instantly, I love them!

And I have that one in your link in my 20l.

EDIT: Just remembered you said you were getting two, so that would give you 1,200gph flow rate, that should be good. Someone will chime in and correct me if I'm off.

Marinedepot has some of the better prices on the koralias, after shipping. I would think that a few K1400s would be good on a 90.

Foster and Smiths has them on sale I bought 3 of the 1400 evolutions they are quiet flow output is ok.

Koralia one's that aren't really fance you can get for less than $50, I got my Koralia 2 from Pet Supplies Plus for around 35-40 bucks

Maybe I'm missing something, but Foster Smith is way more expensive than Marine Depot for these pumps. The 1400gph Evos are $46.39 at Marine Depot, and $64.99 at Foster Smith.

I got the 750gph evolutions (2 of them) for my 55g tank. I was afraid they'd be too much flow. they actually are working great. I love the broad spectrom flow they have. It's not just a giant stream of water like my modded maxijet was. I replaced the 1400gph modded maxijet firehose with 2 of the evolutions. The tank has been adapting to them and everything seems to have a nice gentle flow.

I have 3 1400's and my old koralia three on my 125. I bet 3 11400's would be good for you

i hv the 1400 and 1050 model in a 72. it wasnt enough flow overall. i actually switch back to two tunze nano stream. the koralia evo doesnt hv the wide flow like tunze or vortech.

I have two of the new evo 1050s in my 55g and am pretty happy with them. I don't have experience with the more expensive vortechs or tunze, os take my 2 cents for what its worth.
