Water change?

I usually let the new saltwater mix with a powerhead for 24hrs. Would 12hrs be long enough for an emergency water change due to improper medication treatment?

I have had to do "emergency" water changes for various reasons in the past. I have had no issues with 12 hrs of mixing, but I have ALWAYS tested the batch before starting the change. What are you using to mix (pump and size of batch)?

Only a 8 gallon change main tank is a 35hex. Testing as in the salinity correct? I have a heater and a koralia 3 for storing the water.

With that small amount of water and koralia 3 your using you should be fine with 12 hrs.
As far as testing, Yes salinity, but I also test it for Alk, Ca, and Mag and dozing as needed to make sure everything is up to stronger lvls.

If it's an emergency you can mix it up and use it right away. Stick your powerhead and heater in there and slowly bring the salinity up. Once it's where you want it use it. Freshly made saltwater will stress your fish a lot less than whatever it is your trying to thin out.

you can make saltwater in a half hour and use it if need be with no ill effects

you just need to make sure theres no unmixed salt in the bottom of your container getting sucked up in the pump.

This is what I've always done. I have a a small tank and no room to have gallons of premixed saltwater laying around. I just make sure all the sale is dissolved and then test with my refractometer.
