Garf Grunge - IPSF Live Sand Activator... ???

Im getting ready to redo the aquascape of my tank with a foam reef wall. So I am going to have to put my few fish in a temp tank while I tear down the main tank and install the new wall. I am wonding if I should use one of these product to help get my tank back up and running quickly again.

I like the idea of the Grunge, but dont think I would like the look of it in my tank. I am thinkint I will probably put it in my fuge. Will the bugs and worms and stars make it from the fuge to my main tank?

I dont know what the IPSF stuff looks like, but havnt heard of any one using it either.

Anyone have any suggestions or experiences with either of these products. I have heard they are a gift from the reef gods and I have heard they are not worth the bags they are shipped in.

If you are using a high pressure pump to connect your fuge to your tank, then none of the fauna will make it thru the pump alive.

As far as GARF goes, I've heard mixed reviews. From what I get, it feels like a couple of over-enthusiastic hobbiests. Just my opinion. Check out inland aquatics for stocking your fuge and sandbeds. I have heard many good things about their products.

The grunge works good to seed a tank using base rock only (no live rock) I wouldnt put it in my DT. I have sugar sand and the grunge is bigger pieces of random stuff, dead coral frags...aiptasia, things like that.

not worth it.

IPSF = Good

Garf Grunge = Bad! Its nothing but sand and gravel polluted with hydrogen sulfide. I had a large NH3 spike from using their grunge and luckily I detected it and removed it from my refugium before it crashed my tank.
