do you believe this?
i went to saltwaterfish.com yesterday to browse at there livestock and i seen that they have a flame angelfish and a coral beauty REEF SAFE. i use to have a flame angelfish that i purchased from bluezooaquatics and he def was not reef safe he always picked at my poor cany cane coral. btw bluezoo said caution with corals they did not say he was going to be reef safe i just chanced it. do you think there is a such thing as a angelfish being reef safe? i have heard an angelfish not touching any corals for years and one day BAM. i would love you have a flame angelfish in my reef tank. should i chance it? and go by what they said that it is reef safe

It's a dwarf angel. It's not reef safe. You could get lucky and get one that never touched corals, but there is no single species of angel in which every single individual is perfectly reef safe. None.

Emu, that may be true, but, is Genicanthus a dwarf angel appropriate for smaller tank sizes. I didn't see any that were dwarfs and appropriate for smaller tanks.

i got my flame angel from there. mine is with sps and 6 clams. it would nip at things there and there, but no major damage. to minimize the chance, just make sure its fed. swf.com actually sells very healthy specimens. my avatar is my flame.

I had a coral beauty for many yrs with no issues with him/her messing with my SPS, clams or other corals. I think it really boils down to how you feed and the personality of your peticular fish.
